Dr. Voorhies is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, Texas, and Idaho also a Fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and of  Chi Sigma Iota, the counseling honor society. Dr. Voorhies hold a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Texas, a Master's Degree in Divinity from Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas, and a Doctorate in Pastoral Psychotherapy from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoys teaching psychology on the graduate level and supervising counseling interns who are working toward licensure. Intrigued by equine therapy, music therapy, and art therapy, she has utilized the creative arts in her work since 1991.
